Why should I choose your office?

Comfort, Safety, and Results! Many patients express concern about the old method of twisting and cracking or popping vertebral joints to "adjust" the spine.

We're different! Our practice was one of the first in the Triangle to use modern FDA-cleared Pro-Adjuster Technology to adjust the spine and extremity joints. The Pro adjuster technology has computer-controlled impulses of energy to gently mobilize and free up tight, misaligned spine joints. There's no twisting or popping required. This amazing technology is safe, very comfortable, and gets quick results. The Pro adjuster is safe for all ages, from kids to seniors, and totally safe for pregnancy back pain, and big college athletes.

The Pro-Adjuster even has a diagnostic software component that uses impulse energy to identify the problem areas in your spine, so we can scientifically measure the success of each treatment.

Safety, comfort, and Results! Call us today for a free consultation to determine if we can help you enjoy life and feel good! Plus our 30+ years of experience caring for Triangle patients!

Does your office use physio-therapeutics like ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, and traction massage?

Yes, because these have been proven to help ease pain and speed recovery. Combined with gentle Pro-Adjuster chiropractic we can provide fast relief and recovery for a wide variety of common musculoskeletal problems. All without drugs or surgery.

What type of education do chiropractors receive?

Today’s Doctors of Chiropractic are highly trained professionals. Chiropractic Physicians are trained as primary-contact health professionals with an emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the musculoskeletal system.

Special emphasis is placed on the human spine, its muscles, ligaments, and nerve supply. Education requirements for Doctors of Chiropractic are among the most demanding for healthcare professionals.

Acceptance into an accredited chiropractic college requires that the applicant has already received a four-year degree with a pre-medical undergraduate curriculum in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and health-related lab work.

Once accepted into the accredited chiropractic college, four to five more years of intense, demanding training is the standard for Doctors of Chiropractic. Training and curriculum involve psychology, orthopedics, neurology, pathology, human anatomy, clinical diagnosis, Radiology, exercises, nutrition, and more. Chiropractic Doctors receive intense training in biomechanics and skilled manipulation (adjustment) of the spine and extremity joints. In total, the chiropractic college curriculum includes "a minimum" of 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical experience. This course of study is approved and recognized by the US Department of Education.

After this intense training, D.C.s must pass State Board Exams in the Sciences listed above.

How does chiropractic work?

All doctors recognize the human body's innate, or inborn ability to heal itself and maintain health. Your nervous system controls and coordinates all body functions. Chiropractic adjustments remove interference that may be blocking your nervous system’s ability to regulate and maintain healthy cells, tissues, organs, and body systems. Nervous system disruption can be physical, chemical, or emotional. A common interference of nervous system function occurs in the human spine. A complex biomechanical structure with 24 vertebrae attached by a complex network of 23 discs, hundreds of ligaments, and muscles. A loss of normal alignment or motion of any vertebrae can disrupt nervous system function, disrupting the brain’s ability to transmit nerve impulses to cells, tissue, and organs, leading to pain and organ disease. Chiropractors are highly trained professionals that locate and work to remove nervous system interference within the human spine.

When the normal function is restored to the spine through chiropractic adjustments the nervous system can be freed from pain and can resume its critical role in regulating health.

Simply stated, all doctors recognize the nervous system as the master control system. Only Chiropractors are trained to remove interference with safe, gentle adjustments

Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?

Not in our office! Our office is unique in that we use the Pro adjuster, FDA-cleared medical technology that uses computer-controlled gentle impulses of energy to mobilize and precisely adjust tight misaligned vertebrae. The Pro adjuster is safe, gentle, and precise in the ability to "free up" problem areas. It's even highly effective in treating extremity joints like shoulders, knees, and wrist pain. The Pro adjuster is proven safe for pregnant mothers, seniors, and big, strong athletes.

And yes, we have a few patients who prefer manual adjustments. When it's appropriate for the patient we can gently adjust the "old manual way".

What is a subluxation and how does an adjustment work?

This is an awesome and important question for any patient who cares about staying healthy. A Vertebral Subluxation is a vertebra (one or more) that is out of alignment or is unable to move freely.

There are 5 proven medical components to vertebral subluxation.

  1. Abnormal motion or position of spinal bones.
  2. Abnormal nervous system function
  3. Abnormal muscle function
  4. Abnormal soft tissue function
  5. Degeneration of vertebral joints

The chiropractic adjustment is the art and science of using a specific force by hand or by medical instrument to restore normal motion and alignment to subluxated vertebrae.
